My Dear Friends

Unbelievably, its that time of year again, when next Saturday most of us will think about not shaving in preparation for the weekend ahead (apart from Paulie, who hasn’t been shaving since Christmas and still has less hair on his chin than Georgia!)

It gives me enormous pleasure to outline this year’s itinerary;

Thursday night will no doubt see Paulie and Washey arrive at GCT HQ in time to eat numerous cheese sandwiches and drink copious amounts of Rose wine, as has become the tradition J

Friday morning will see Mikey arrive stating that he won’t be drinking this year (see 1.00am throwing up copiously, 8.00am not eating any breakfast, 2.00pm stating that he is going to become T total and 8.00pm drinking J20 with his little finger raised discussing the benefits of lilac waterproofs – the only coat you’ll ever need!)

The rest of Friday morning will see the four musketeers heading for Ambleside in the battle bus, whilst Salm and Alun make their own way whilst listening to preview copies of this years GCT Album (another triumph, even if I say so myself) Obviously phone contact will be maintained every 20 mins to confirm location, and did you know my Uncle Roger lives there……………………………thought so, lol!

12.00 noon sees us arrive at the Sportsman for a light lunch (assuming that there isn’t a wake on again, with Salm arriving about 12.30 as usual.

2.00pm up at the Sticklebarn with a re-run of our triumphant romp to the Brittania in Elterwater and back in the afternoon! Apologies for the lack of originality, but we’ve pretty much covered this area, and it does serve a cracking pint J

Friday night, beer, poker and merriment!

Saturday, involves cholesterol and tea for breakfast, followed by a short drive by battle bus to Grasmere (where the bus will be left until later) we the will walk via Easedale to Easedale Tarn, then up to Blea Rigg and onto High Raise, along to Harrison Stickle, then Pavey Ark down to Stickle Tarn, then the cracking descent back to the Sticklebarn hopefully in time to catch the 3.15pm start to England v Scotland in the six nations. Collection of the battle bus will have to take place before too much beer is consumed then the usual evening entertainments will resume.

Sunday, breakfast at Lucy’s blah blah blah.

Can’t wait!

Just let me know, what’s occurring, Paulie and Washey eta on Thursday, Mikey eta on Friday, Al, when you expect to meet us in the lakes (he’s probably been in a pub in Little Langdale since the end of January waiting for the right light!) and Salm eta at the Sportsman.

To infinity and beyond J
